Why we're in Crewe

A national event without London prices

Crewe sits on the West Coast Main Line. It's about 90 minutes from London Euston, 35 from Manchester and an hour from Birmingham, which puts most of the country within a two-hour train ride.

Two things follow from that. Delegates spend less time and money travelling, so more of them turn up. And we aren't paying central London rents, so our fees are lower than an agency doing the same work out of Soho.

  • We book venues anywhere in the UK, and we're not tied to a hotel chain
  • You see what suppliers actually charge us
  • One person on your account from first call to final invoice
  • A registered UK limited company, not a loose network of freelancers

FAQs

Questions we get asked

What size of event do you take on?

From a 20-person board offsite up to a 1,500-delegate conference or exhibition. Under about 20 people you probably don't need an agency at all.

How do you charge?

Three ways. A fixed project fee agreed before we start, a monthly retainer if you run events all year, or venue finding on its own, which is free because the venue pays our commission. Full detail on the services page.

Do you take commission from suppliers?

On venue finding, yes. That's how it works and it's why that service is free. On everything else we pass supplier costs through at cost and charge our fee separately. If a supplier offers us a rebate, it comes off your invoice.

How far ahead do we need to book?

Six months is comfortable for a large conference or awards night, and three months is workable. We've done it quicker than that. Tell us your date and we'll say whether it's realistic.

Do you work outside the North West?

Yes. We're registered in Crewe and work all over the UK, including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. Travel is quoted as its own line rather than buried in the fee.

Are you insured?

Corporate Event Experts Ltd carries public liability and professional indemnity cover. Certificates are available on request and are supplied as standard to venues during contracting.

Tell us what you're planning

Send us the date, rough numbers and what you're trying to achieve, and we'll come back with a proposal and a price.
